philosophy

as i experience more (life?) and become (hopefully!) wiser, i find that i lean yet further towards a particular stance, getting stronger with time. i seem to have stumbled here independently. i some realise that others have trodden this path much longer and more deeper than me. i find my philosophy epitomised by some of these.

unix: the unix philosophy
Write programs that do one thing and do it well. Write programs to work together. Write programs to handle text streams, because that is a universal interface.

suckless: suck less philosophy
We… focus on simplicity, clarity and frugality. Our philosophy is about keeping things simple, minimal and usable.

ratpoison: the antidesktop?
Forget about desktop decor, senseless glitter, and animations. Enjoy the extra speed of those CPU cycles that were wasted on the [[GUI?]]. Say goodbye (and good riddance) to the rodent and welcome the ultimate interface to your computer…

uzbl: introduction
Any program can only be really useful if it complies with the Unix philosophy. Web browsers… are frequent violators of this principle:

this philosophy, though referring to inanimate computer programs, is very relevant to our human society and wider civilisation. we can not program human beings/society like software or eradicate malware like selfish/corrupt desires! but, we can try engage, educate, enlighten, and set them free to embrace life…
